Netanyahu: "Israel will not annex Gaza" | WATCH
Netanyahu outlined a post-war vision where Gaza would be governed by a "temporary international body" to oversee reconstruction and administration, while Israel maintains overriding security responsibilities to prevent Hamas's resurgence.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told India’s CNN18 that “Israel will not annex Gaza” and intends to eventually hand it over to a temporary governing body. He stressed that the war could end quickly, “even tomorrow,” if Hamas were to lay down its arms and release the hostages unconditionally. Netanyahu also emphasized the need to distinguish “between innocent civilians and Hamas.”
According to News18, "The PM made it clear that the war’s primary objectives remain the complete destruction of Hamas and the return of all Israeli hostages ... Netanyahu revealed that a “security perimeter" would be established within Gaza to prevent future threats. This is a necessary measure to ensure that Gaza can no longer pose a security risk to Israel.
The Prime Minister’s vision for a post-Hamas Gaza is one where the territory is not under Israeli control but is managed by a new authority, signaling a desire to avoid a long-term military occupation while still securing Israel’s borders, as reported by News18.
In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu explained, "We want to remove and topple the neo-Nazi Hamas, which murders babies and rapes women. We want to free ourselves and the residents of Gaza from the murderous tyranny of Hamas [so] we are going to take control of Gaza to remove Hamas from it, also for the residents of Gaza. We do not want to keep Gaza in our hands, to control it or to rule it. We want a security barrier, to transfer it to a civilian entity that will control it, [but] this is not possible with Hamas."
