Syrian Army Fighter Spotted Wearing ISIS Patch in Suwayda | WATCH
Chilling footage from Suwayda reveals a Syrian army soldier wearing an ISIS patch, raising concerns about jihadist infiltration within Assad's ranks.
Chilling footage from the southern Syrian city of Suwayda reveals a Syrian army soldier—part of the notorious Division 82—wearing a Daesh (ISIS) patch on his chest. The fighter is reportedly operating under the command of Abu Mohammad al-Julani, a former ISIS member now leading military operations in the region.
In a video circulating on Arabic social media, the soldier is heard declaring:
“In the name of Allah the Merciful... the Ansar al-Tawhid battalions of Division 82 are preparing to enter Suwayda and purge it of the impurity of al-Hijri and his supporters. Oh Allah, give us strength.”
The footage has sparked outrage, raising deep concerns about jihadist infiltration within the Assad regime’s formal army ranks.
Fierce clashes continue between Division 82 forces and Druze militias defending the city. The area is rapidly destabilizing.
At least 248 people have been killed in the recent violence — including many women and children. An additional 21 civilians were reportedly executed by forces tied to Syria’s defense and interior ministries.
Although Syrian ruler al-Julani has publicly pledged to “respect the rights of Suwayda residents,” his forces’ actions on the ground suggest a violent campaign aimed at ethnically cleansing the Druze stronghold.
