A 22-year-old police officer stunned concertgoers after she was invited on stage during a performance by Israeli singer Sasson Ifram Shaulov. The moment, captured in a TikTok video that has already racked up 700,000 views, shows Shaulov dancing alongside the officer as she sang, delighting the audience.
Renana Hovav, from Bnei Ish, explained how the unexpected opportunity came about. “We know each other a little from before,” she shared. “I was positioned at the back of the stage, and when he saw me, he gave me a hug and told me to stay close.”
Midway through the show, Shaulov officially invited Hovav to perform.
“At first, I didn’t understand what he wanted, and then in the middle of the performance, he said, ‘I want to invite you,’” she recalled.
A budding music career
Hovav has been pursuing music for the past two years, attending the Eyal Golan Music School and sharing her performances on TikTok, where her videos have garnered hundreds of thousands of views. After completing her regular service in the Israel Border Police, she continues her reserve duty, with her current posting set to conclude in just two weeks.
“It felt incredible to be on stage. It was my first time performing live, and hopefully not the last,” Hovav said. “My dream is to move people with my music and become a professional singer. I already have some of my songs on YouTube.”
The viral performance has not only captured the hearts of viewers online but also highlighted the unexpected intersections between public service and the arts in Israel.
