Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett harshly attacked today (Wednesday) Britain's announcement of recognition of a Palestinian state, defining the step as a "reward for terror" and "destructive." Bennett published these words on his social media account, while warning of serious consequences of the move.

Bennett wrote that the British step not only rewards Hamas for its terrorist actions, but also signals to the organization that it has real profit in continuing its refusal to agreements. According to him, this is a destructive policy that ensures the hostages will remain in Gaza and the war will continue endlessly.

Bennett further added that the British decision is a reckless and destructive action, providing reinforcement to terrorist elements and distancing the chance of a stable arrangement in the region. He called on Western countries to apply pressure on Hamas instead of granting it indirect legitimacy.

Britain's declaration stirred controversy in Israel's political system, with additional figures joining the criticism of the move, while London claims its purpose is promoting a long-term political solution. Bennett concluded that the decision sends a dangerous message to the world of terror and requires Israel to act with political and security determination.
