Exposed: How Iranian Hackers Duped Israeli Actors Online
A sophisticated phishing scam has exposed dozens of Israeli actors after they were tricked into giving away sensitive personal information during a fake online audition. The attackers, who authorities believe are linked to Iran, later threatened the victims, leading to a public alert from the National Cyber Directorate.

The Israeli National Cyber Directorate has issued an alert about a sophisticated phishing scam that tricked dozens of Israeli actors into giving up their private information. Authorities believe the attack may have ties to Iran.
The hackers used a compromised email account to send fake audition invitations for a new movie. The emails asked actors to send in audition videos along with sensitive personal details like their home address, ID number, and passport. Dozens of unsuspecting actors fell for the trick, unknowingly giving away their private data.
Afterward, the victims started getting threats from the attackers, who claimed to be linked to Iranian sources.
The Cyber Directorate is urging the public to be careful and avoid sharing personal information with people they don't know. They've also asked anyone who gets a similar email to report it immediately to the national cybersecurity hotline.
