They Betrayed Israel: Trio Accused of Assisting Iran With Attack Plans and Intel
Three Israelis were arrested for allegedly aiding Iranian intelligence by conducting surveillance and transferring materials that threatened national security. The cases, involving tasks like photographing public sites and a foiled assassination plot, underscore Iran’s efforts to undermine Israel amid recent military confrontations.

Israel’s Shin Bet, in coordination with the Israel Police’s Unit of International Crime Investigations (Yahbal) under Lahav 433, arrested three Israeli citizens in two separate cases on suspicion of aiding Iranian intelligence operatives in activities threatening national security. The arrests highlight Israel’s heightened vigilance following Operation Rising Lion, which targeted Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure earlier that month.
In the first case, Mark Morgan, a 33-year-old from the Jordan Valley, was detained for allegedly maintaining contact with Iranian agents and performing tasks on their behalf. Authorities claim Morgan knowingly transferred a pre-planted grenade intended to harm civilians and sent an interception video to his handler during Operation Rising Lion, potentially aiding Iran’s retaliatory efforts. This operation, launched on June 13, saw Israel strike key Iranian sites, prompting Iran to launch missile salvos that killed 28 civilians.
In a separate investigation, Yoni Segal, 18, and Nehorai Omri Mizrahi, 20, both from Tiberias, were arrested for allegedly communicating with intelligence operatives from a hostile state over the past two months. The pair conducted surveillance missions, photographing key public locations including the Grand Canyon Mall in Haifa, Big Fashion in Tiberias, Dizengoff Center, and Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv. They collected data on security personnel, store counts, and mall layouts, sending real-time location updates to their handler and requesting additional assignments. This intelligence gathering is believed to have been intended to facilitate attacks on Israeli civilians.
Authorities also uncovered a plot where the suspects were offered hundreds of thousands of shekels to assassinate an unidentified Israeli citizen. They were allegedly instructed to travel abroad for operational training, with the target’s identity to be revealed later. The plot was thwarted before it could advance. The arrests reflect Iran’s ongoing attempts to exploit internal vulnerabilities, as seen in the regime’s recent crackdown on 700 suspected spies, amid heightened tensions following Israel’s military successes.
