Israel is signaling its unwavering commitment to neutralizing Hamas leadership, despite mounting international criticism. The resolve comes to the forefront as the United Nations Security Council is set to convene for an emergency meeting this afternoon, prompted by a recent Israeli airstrike in Qatar targeting key Hamas figures.

Ambassador Danny Danon, Israel's envoy to the UN, confirmed the meeting on X, previously known as Twitter. Danon stated he will use the platform to deliver a clear message to the international community: Israel will not be deterred by diplomatic pressure and will continue to pursue Hamas leaders wherever they are located.

"I intend to make it absolutely clear to the Council: there will be no immunity for terrorists, not in Gaza, not in Lebanon, and not in Qatar," Danon declared. "We will not back down and we will continue to act decisively against the leaders of terror wherever they are hiding."

Echoing this sentiment, Israel's ambassador to the United States, David Leiter, appeared on Fox News to reinforce the country's position. Leiter affirmed that the operation would continue, targeting any Hamas leaders who survived the initial strike.

"If we didn’t get them this time, we’ll get them next time," he said.

While both envoys acknowledged the condemnation received from various nations, including the United States, they both emphasized the strong, continuing alliance between Washington and Jerusalem. Leiter stressed the two nations are "united in the effort of eliminating Hamas as being a threat to peace in the Middle East." He further noted, "We have acted together in the past, we’ll act together in the future."
