Unprecedented Arrest: Over 100 Palestinians Detained in Tel Aviv | Watch
Israeli police conducted a major overnight operation in Tel Aviv's Florentin neighborhood, arresting over 100 Palestinians without legal permits and two elderly suspects for harboring.
In an extraordinary overnight operation, Israeli police arrested more than 100 Palestinians living illegally in Tel Aviv, marking one of the largest mass arrests of its kind in recent memory.
The raid, carried out by officers from the Jaffa station in cooperation with Border Police forces from Tel Aviv district, targeted a residential building in the Florentin neighborhood. Authorities confirmed that 102 individuals without legal permits were detained from multiple apartments within the property.
Alongside the arrests, two elderly brothers – aged 76 and 80, residents of Bat Yam and Tel Aviv – were also taken into custody on suspicion of harboring and assisting illegal residents. They were transferred for questioning at the Jaffa police station.
Police emphasized that the presence of illegal residents can serve as a platform for hostile activity, underlining the importance of the operation. Officials also stated that administrative and criminal measures will be pursued against those who provided housing for the detainees.
Police spokesperson: “Investigators and licensing supervisors at the Jaffa station will take all necessary legal steps against those who harbor illegal residents.”
Video footage released by Israeli police shows the dramatic scenes of the late-night operation, as dozens of individuals were rounded up and escorted away in buses under heavy security.
