Warren: Mamdani's Message Is The Democratic Message
Senator Elizabeth Warren, one of the leaders of the party's progressive wing, openly endorsed the mayoral candidate's economic ideas, while avoiding discussion of his views on Israel.

Democratic Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren gave her official endorsement today (Monday) to New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, in a further sign of growing support for the Democratic candidate, who also identifies as a democratic socialist, from the party's left wing.
At a press conference she held with Mamdani, a reporter asked her if she thought that the democratic socialist way was the democratic message, Warren unequivocally responded yes. In particular, she endorsed the fact that Mamdani had multiple plans for dealing with things like affordability, healthcare, and other issues. She even seemed to support his idea for government-owned grocery stores to reduce cost of living, at least as an experiment involving trial and error.
Warren does not appear to have addressed growing concerns among Jews that Mamdani's virulently anti-Zionist past and his support for terrorist-supporting individuals, to say nothing of the strongly anti-Israel stance of members of his party, many of whom can expect to be given important roles in his administration.
In particular, Jamaal Bowman, an openly anti-Israel Democratic Congressman who was forced out in a Democratic primary in New York, is Mamdani's chief candidate to be superintendent of the city's schools. Jewish students and teachers are already facing a flood of harassment and intimidation in public schools throughout the country, and Bowman being put in charge means that complaints on the matter are likely to be ignored.
Nor did Warren address Mamdani's plan to effectively neutralize police response to a whole host of crimes, including "hate crimes," instead handing responsibility over to hand-picked activists and social workers unlikely to be sympathetic to Jews being attacked over Israel.
