Axios: Steve Witkoff uninterested in National Security Adviser job
Following Mike Waltz's planned departure from the role, speculation arose as to his possible successor, with Witkoff in a leading role.
Barak Ravid, reporter for Axios and Walla, said a short time ago today (Thursday) that a source "familiar with the matter" said that Steve Witkoff, Trump's Middle East Envoy, is uninterested in replacing Mike Waltz as National Security Adviser.
This report comes following a CBS News report that Mike Waltz is going to leave his post as National Security Adviser along with his deputy, presumably in part due to his mistaken adding of journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal chat which included discussion of US air strikes against the Houthis in Yemen, including operational details.
