A Brooklyn woman named Iman Abdul who once worked as a youth organizer for prominent progressive political campaigns, including that of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, was arrested Friday after allegedly urging her social media followers to “attack” a public high school because Jewish students attend it.

Authorities say the 27-year-old suspect posted a screenshot of Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences on Google Maps, accompanied by a caption telling her 25,000 followers the school was filled with “Israel-loving Zionists” and referencing students’ participation in Birthright trips to Israel.

Police arrested her at her Brooklyn residence, charging her with making a terroristic threat, aggravated harassment, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and making a threat of mass harm. The high school, located on the campus of Kingsborough Community College, is a secular public institution with about 1,000 students and an Israel Club that celebrates Jewish holidays. The post drew swift condemnation from Jewish activists, educators, and advocacy groups who called it dangerous incitement against minors.

“This is not just dangerous, it is evil,” said one New York City educator and Jewish community advocate. “When you target a school because of its Jewish students, you cross a line that cannot be ignored.”

The account accused of posting the threat reportedly contained other antisemitic content, including mocking police complaints and dismissing criticism as an attack on “freedom of speech.” In a direct message to one watchdog group, the suspect claimed she meant only to “verbally attack” what she called a “Zionist institution funded by our public dollars.”

City officials and law enforcement leaders were quick to condemn the message, with calls for the case to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The suspect’s social media accounts have since been removed.
