USAID Inspector General: Hamas Diverts "Significant" Amount of Aid
The Free Beacon reports that the office found voluminous evidence of theft of vital aid by Hamas

The USAID Inspector General's Office, an entity separate from the shuttered USAID, is conducting multiple investigations into the massive theft of aid meant for ordinary Gazans by the Hamas terrorist group, according to a report yesterday (Friday) by the Washington Free Beacon.
According to the Inspector General, "There is endless video evidence of Hamas looting, not to mention members of the aid-industrial complex who have admitted that looting exists by reporting it as 'self-distribution,' in a poor attempt at an aid corruption coverup," the official said. "There has been widespread violence and chaos at U.N. aid sites and border crossings—which has received shockingly little mainstream media coverage because it does not fit the international aid complex narrative."
Worse, there is reportedly no confirmable evidence that the UN and UNRWA fired employees with clear ties to the October 7 massacre. Unlike the memo leaked to Reuters which claimed no significant theft of aid by Hamas, solely based on UN official figures, the Inspector General reportedly based itself on a wide range of sources, including staff and whistleblowers who fear retaliation from those higher up.
The Free Beacon also noted that Hamas maintains a stranglehold on civilian authority in the Gaza Strip thanks to its hijacking and use of humanitarian aid, to the point that many Gazans are joining up just to get food and money, and many truck drivers even coordinate with Hamas to make sure it gets its cut of the aid.
An important part of Prime Minister Netanyahu's plan for the Gaza Strip involves severing Hamas' link to the aid, first with the establishment of multiple GHF aid stations in addition to existing ones, and also the establishment of an alternative civil government - first in Gaza City and then throughout the whole Strip, though he has not yet provided details on how such an administration will be established and protected against Hamas attacks.
