President Donald Trump has voiced unwavering support for Israel’s aggressive military campaign against Iran, urging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to persist with airstrikes aimed at crippling Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and military capabilities. In recent remarks, Trump revealed he speaks daily with Netanyahu, whom he praised as a “good man” doing “a lot” under challenging circumstances. “I told Netanyahu to keep going with the strikes in Iran,” Trump stated, emphasizing his endorsement of Israel’s Operation Rising Lion, launched in June 2025 to neutralize Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear infrastructure. He also decried the “unfair” treatment Netanyahu faces in Israel, calling it “ridiculous” that the prime minister must navigate domestic criticism while “in the middle of a war.”

Addressing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s refusal to capitulate, Trump was dismissive, saying, “I say, ‘Good luck.’” He underscored Iran’s weakened state, noting, “My patience has run out. They had 60 days, a big 60 days, plenty of time, they made a mistake, their country is in ruins, so many people dead.” Trump defined Iran’s needed “unconditional surrender” as a complete relinquishment of its nuclear weapons program, stating, “That means ‘I’ve had it, I give up the nuclear weapons, no more.’ For 40 years, Iran has been saying ‘Death to America,’ ‘Death to Israel,’ ‘Death’ to anyone they didn’t like. They were bullies, and now they’re not.”

The remarks come as Israel’s air force has destroyed 70 Iranian air defense batteries and over 120 missile launchers since June 13, 2025, significantly degrading Iran’s military capacity. Trump’s stance aligns with Israel’s resolve to prevent Iran from advancing its nuclear program, especially after the elimination of key Iranian commanders like Hossein Salami and Amir Ali Hajizadeh. The U.S. has reportedly vetoed targeting Khamenei directly, but Trump’s comments signal a hardline approach, reflecting frustration with Iran’s persistent defiance amid mounting losses. As the conflict escalates, Trump’s vocal backing points to a strong U.S.-Israel alliance against Iran’s regional influence.
