How Much Aid Did Hamas Really Steal? The Numbers Will Stun You

Hamas has reportedly earned $500 million in 2024 by stealing and selling humanitarian aid meant for Gaza’s civilians, worsening the plight of both residents and Israeli hostages. The UN and other sources confirm that the majority of aid is looted by terror groups, despite narratives blaming Israel for the region’s shortages.

In 2024, Hamas amassed a staggering $500 million by seizing humanitarian aid intended for Gaza’s civilians and selling it at exorbitant prices, exacerbating the suffering of both Gazan residents and Israeli hostages held by the terror group. According to an op-ed by Ophir Falk, senior foreign policy advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hamas and other terror organizations systematically commandeered aid trucks entering the Gaza Strip, diverting resources meant to alleviate the region’s humanitarian crisis.

Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) revealed that 80% of the aid entering Gaza was intercepted by Hamas or other terror groups. The United Nations, despite its frequent criticism of Israel, corroborated these findings, admitting that 85% of aid delivered by its agencies was looted by terrorists. Yet, the UN continues to deflect blame onto Israel for food shortages and violence at aid distribution sites, ignoring Hamas’s role in the crisis.

Evidence of this exploitation includes footage of a Hamas operative, appearing far from malnourished, advertising sugar looted from UN aid trucks for “only” 40 shekels per kilogram. This profiteering not only deprives Gazan civilians of essential supplies but also fuels Hamas’s terror operations, including the starvation and torture of Israeli hostages, with 50 still in captivity, 20 of whom are believed to be alive. The theft undermines international efforts, such as recent airdrops of over 106 food aid packages by countries including the UAE and Jordan, aimed at supporting Gaza’s population.

This blatant exploitation exposes the hypocrisy of activists who propagate Hamas’s anti-Israel narratives, ignoring the group’s role in perpetuating suffering. The diversion of aid highlights the challenges Israel faces in ensuring humanitarian support reaches those in need while combating a terror organization that prioritizes its own gain over civilian welfare.
