Hamas Visits Egypt To Negotiate Ceasefire
Hamas says that it sent a senior delegation to negotiate a ceasefire that would end the war in Gaza.

Hamas just released the following statement today (Tuesday) regarding continuing efforts to reach a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip:
"At a generous invitation from Egypt, a Hamas leadership delegation headed by Dr. Khalil al-Hayya arrived in Cairo to hold talks with Egyptian officials about recent developments related to the war of extermination in Gaza and about the general situation in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
"Taher al-Nunu, Hamas leader in Cairo, declared that the delegation began preliminary talks ahead of the meetings, which will begin tomorrow, Wednesday. These talks will focus on ways to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, allow the entry of aid and put an end to the suffering of our people in Gaza. They will also focus on internal Palestinian relations in order to reach a national consensus on all political issues, as well as bilateral relations with our brothers in Egypt and ways to develop them.
"Al-Nunu praised Egypt's efforts on all the previous issues under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and emphasized that relations with Egypt are solid and strong, and that joint work on various issues has not ceased."
According to reports in the Arab press, the Egyptian and Qatari mediators have floated a proposal to free all the hostages, living and dead, in one round, in exchange for the IDF suspending operations and not moving into Gaza City, during which all sides would negotiate conditions for the disarmament of Hamas and the installation of a non-Hamas governing authority.
Prime Minister Netanyahu told i24 News tonight that he has no intention to conduct any more negotiations for partial hostage deals. Netanyahu said that he had tried to secure a deal for months but that Hamas "played with him" and never agreed to anything Israel could accept.
