The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a series of night raids in southern Syria last week, uncovering hidden weapons stockpiles and detaining several suspects, the IDF Spokesperson announced today.
Forces from the 474th “Golan” Brigade, operating under the command of Division 210, targeted multiple sites in the region. The raids, executed simultaneously, led to the discovery of several weapons depots containing RPG missiles, explosive devices, Kalashnikov-style rifles, and a large quantity of ammunition. All seized materials were confiscated by the IDF.
The operations were guided by intelligence gathered in recent weeks, which also prompted the arrest and interrogation of multiple suspects in the area. The 474th Brigade collaborated with field investigators from Unit 504 to carry out the detentions.
“The brigade’s forces remain active in the region to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens, particularly residents of the Golan Heights,” the IDF statement said. The raids are part of ongoing efforts to secure the border and prevent threats emanating from southern Syria.
