Israel Cancels All School Trips and Summer Camps
Education Ministry orders evacuation of forest camps and suspension of all outdoor activities until Saturday night as scorching temperatures and high fire danger grip the country.

The Israeli Ministry of Education has announced the cancellation of all school trips and the evacuation of summer camps in forest areas due to extreme heat and high fire risk expected in the coming days.
Following a safety assessment conducted in coordination with security and safety authorities, the ministry confirmed that from Monday, August 12, until Saturday night, August 16, all planned trips to open areas will be canceled in accordance with the guidelines of the National Field Trips Situation Room.
In addition, all summer camps operating in forests will be evacuated by Monday at 12:00 p.m., due to fears of wildfires caused by the extreme heat and dryness.
Certain KKL field centers — including Tzipori, Yatir, Ashbal campground, and the Scouts Farm — will remain open but under strict weather-related restrictions. For youth movement activities planned in forest areas ahead of the weekend, special approval must be obtained on Wednesday, August 14.
The ministry stressed that due to the dangerous heat wave, the public should avoid staying in open areas — even within cities — unless in air-conditioned spaces such as museums or visitor centers.
