The Air Force admits that the drone that hit Tel Aviv early this morning (Friday) was mistakenly not identified as a hostile target, and therefore not identified by the aerial defense system.

At this stage, it is unclear where the drone came from - whether the south or east or elsewhere. It has been identified as a long-range drone, however.

Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi convened an initial situational assessment and ordered a thorough examination of the attack to understand the type of drone, its technology, and so on.

One man died and eight were injured from the explosion.
