In a poignant statement before his murder, conservative activist Charlie Kirk reflected on his life, faith, and what he came to value most.

"I'm just flesh and bone, but more importantly, I'm a soul, and that soul is accountable to one being," Kirk said. He reflected on his "unbelievably blessed life," mentioning that he has traveled across the world, met with world leaders, and even flown on Air Force One.

The activist, who was also the founder of Turning Point USA, contrasted these experiences with what he sees as truly important. "You experienced that, and you're like, 'What actually matters?'" he stated. "What matters is your relationship with the divine, your relationship with your family, your kids, and maybe a close collection of friends, and your relationship with the truth."
