The German news site Der Spiegel reports that Saudi Arabia has used its defense systems to intercept several long-range missiles fired towards Israel since October 7 by Iran-backed Houthi rebels towards Yemen.

German news site Der Spiegel reported yesterday (Tuesday) that Saudi Arabia has show down several missiles fired at Israel from Yemen by Iran-backed Houthi rebels since October 7. The report stated that while Saudi Arabia has kept silent on this issue, there are at least two known cases where the kingdom intercepted such missiles and that it is likely there were more such cases.

Experts believe that increased rapprochement between Israel and the Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia, remains an interest of the kingdom despite the war in Gaza, and these interceptions seem to prove those intuitions.
