Israeli popstar Noa Kirel and international goalkeeper Daniel Peretz are taking the next step toward their long-awaited wedding, now just two months away. The couple, who got engaged nearly a year ago, confirmed that former Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, will officiate their chuppah and kiddushin ceremony on November 11.
The announcement, first reported on Instagram by Itzik Ohana via “HaRabanit,” comes after weeks of speculation surrounding the high-profile wedding. The couple had already pushed the date back by three days to accommodate Kirel’s performance schedule and Peretz’s matches with German club Hamburger SV.
Kirel, 23, recently celebrated a lavish bachelorette party estimated to have cost around NIS 100,000 for a two-night getaway. Peretz, 25, held his bachelor party well in advance of the big day.
Despite her packed calendar, Kirel has continued to dominate the Israeli entertainment scene. Just last month, she released a new album titled Prime Minister, filmed a television series, and appeared at a high-profile benefit concert honoring veteran singer Matti Caspi.
“I hope my daughter won’t become a singer. She should do whatever she wants, but it’s tough. I wouldn’t really recommend it. If I weren’t in my profession, I’d already be a mom at this age.” Said Noa Kirel.
With one of Israel’s most recognizable cultural figures set to marry one of the country’s brightest sports stars, and under the auspices of a revered rabbinic leader, Kirel and Peretz’s November wedding is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events of the year.
