The Israel Defense Forces has significantly ramped up its offensive in Gaza, with the IDF's Southern Command and Air Force leading the next phase of "Operation Gideon's Chariots B." The operation involves a large-scale aerial campaign against Hamas terror infrastructure in the Gaza City area.
On Wednesday, the IDF struck a high-rise building known as the "Tayibe 2" tower in Gaza City. Before the strike, residents were ordered to evacuate the area. The IDF explained that Hamas terrorists were using the building for intelligence gathering, with observation posts to monitor Israeli troops and plan attacks. The IDF emphasized that it took every precaution to mitigate civilian harm, including using precise munitions and conducting aerial surveillance.
The strike on the Tayibe 2 tower is part of a series of targeted attacks on multi-story buildings that the IDF says have been converted into military infrastructure. The IDF stated that Hamas has systematically violated international law by using civilian institutions for military purposes, effectively using the Gazan population as a shield.
So far, the Israeli Air Force has completed three waves of strikes based on precise intelligence, with dozens of aircraft hitting more than 360 terror targets.
