The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), guided by precise intelligence from the Israel Security Agency (ISA), conducted a targeted strike in Khan Yunis, eliminating Nasser Musa, a senior Hamas commander in the Rafah Brigade. Musa, who served as the Head of Hamas' Military Control Department, was a pivotal figure responsible for overseeing the brigade’s operational readiness and training exercises. His activities included orchestrating terrorist attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians during the ongoing conflict, significantly threatening regional security.
Musa was a close associate of Mohammad Sabaneh, the Rafah Brigade commander killed in May 2025, and held multiple roles within the brigade, including positions in military intelligence and the observation array. The IDF emphasized that Musa’s elimination “further degrades the Rafah Brigade’s operational capabilities and Hamas terrorists' abilities to carry out attacks against IDF troops in the area.” This strike marks another blow to Hamas’s infrastructure in southern Gaza, where the Rafah Brigade has been a key player in coordinating attacks.
In related operations, the IDF targeted a structure in Khan Yunis used by terrorist groups to store rockets intended for attacks on Israel and IDF forces. In Khan Yunis, ground operations led to the destruction of a terrorist structure and the elimination of multiple terrorist cells.
