Beyond the Smiles: The Real Reason Netanyahu and Rubio Met for Three Hours
Prime Minister Netanyahu and Secretary Rubio met in Jerusalem for extensive discussions on Iran's nuclear program, Hamas situation, and hostage release efforts.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio concluded an expanded meeting in Jerusalem on Monday, where they presented a unified public message on Iran's nuclear ambitions and the future of Hamas. The talks also addressed efforts to secure the release of hostages.
The high-level meeting at the Prime Minister's Office included Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, as well as both the U.S. and Israeli Ambassadors.
Netanyahu's 'You Can't Hide' Warning
Addressing the recent strike on Hamas in Doha, Netanyahu said Israel was still gathering reports on the outcome. However, he delivered a direct message to the group's leadership.
"The strike sent a clear message to Hamas leaders: 'You can try to run, but we will find you,'" Netanyahu said.
The prime minister also stated that chants of "Death to America, death to Israel" from Iran were now "less threatening than before," citing Operation “Im KeLavi” and a recent American strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. He added that Israel has "no greater ally than the United States."
Rubio Urges Continued Role for Qatar
On the subject of Qatar's role, Secretary Rubio indicated that Washington was focusing on future cooperation rather than past events.
"We are looking at what we can do with Qatar and what its next role will be in the talks. We encourage it to continue its role," Rubio said, referring to Qatar's efforts as a key mediator.
He reiterated Washington's position that Hamas "could not continue as an armed organization in Gaza" and stressed that all hostages must be returned home. Rubio also highlighted shared concerns about Iran, warning that "a nuclear Iran ruled by radical clerics is an intolerable risk."
