Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said today (Tuesday) that the Israeli hostage negotiation team returned from an intensive week of what it called "significant" negotiations in Qatar for an internal consultation as to its progress.
Earlier today, the Qatari Foreign Minister said that it cannot speak of a specific timeline - whether the end of this month or by Donald Trump's inauguration, depending on the report - though it would not close the door on efforts to secure a deal.
Meanwhile, defense sources speaking to Israel Hayom said that Hamas senior leader Mohammad Sinwar, brother of slain Hamas leader and October 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar, was toying with negotiators and disrupting negotiations.
Specifically, they said that he refused to provide a named list of hostages to be released, which they said is necessary for negotiations to continue, and that he had no problem to disavow prior commitments made by Hamas in negotiations before.
